Warwick Brown
A respected commentator, collector, artist and author. In the early 2000’s he embarked on a controversial personal exhibition of found artworks. Influenced by Colin McCahon the works in this series combined the amateur landscapes with the monolithic influences of gate series. The result is a combination of the New Zealand landscape, old and new, with the overriding influence of Colin McCahon.
He states “By bringing together the visions of NZ’s most profound painter and those of various amateurs …. It is my hope that something new and lasting can be made of works that would otherwise sink without a trace.”
This is one of the hard-to-find works from this series.
