Valeries Heinz (1928 – 2022) was born in Greymouth and studied in at the Canterbury School of Art 1942 – 1948. After her study she travelled to London where she studied at the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art.
She returned to New Zealand and taught at Craighead Diocesan School, and then the Waikato Diocesan School,before returning to Christchurch where she began her long tenure at Christchurch Girls’
High School. She was always passionate about her art and kept exhibiting after her retirement. She is on file at the Auckland Art Galler and Te Papa.
