K J Andrews

Ken Andrews was a popular South Island artist based in Timaru. He served for 4 years in the war and then spent his time as a journalist at the Timaru Herald until he became a full time painter. While overseas he trained under respected European artists including the Russian sculpter, Boris Cluzel.

He was respected for his landscapes of the McKenzie country in oils and watercolour. He described himself as a representational artist in the category of romantic realism.
