Alan Taylor
An English born artist who emigrated to NZ at the age of 20. He became entranced by Maori culture and this became a common motif in his work. He also worked as a journalist and produced two books on Maori culture. He served in the Korean war and was in a prisoner-of-war camp for two years. His work has become popular with his passion for the Maori people and his anti-nuclear stance.
